Star Wars Quotes to Inspire You with Your Dissertation

It’s Star Wars day!!! May the Fourth be with you! We are big Star Wars fans here at Dissertation Editor and wanted to share some of our favorite quotes from a galaxy far, far away with you. (With this one, we would say trying absolutely is important, but the most important thing is to just GET STARTED, which counts as doing).

 

“In my experience there is no such thing as luck.” – Obi-Wan Kenobi, Episode IV, A New Hope

Often, what is seen as “luck” is the result of hard work, perseverance, and preparation. Same with your dissertation. No one gets “lucky” with their dissertation – it’s a result of work.

 

“Fear is the path to the dark side.” – Yoda, Episode I, The Phantom Menace

While writing a thesis or dissertation may be intimidating, there’s nothing to be afraid of!

Failure can teach us a lot; the important thing is not to give up, but to learn from it.

Don't bite off more than you can chew: narrow down your topic to something manageable so you don't get overwhelmed or pick something so big you can't really delve deeply into any one aspect. Make sure you have a clear plan so that you can meet your goals.

This is a good one to remember when you are tempted to fill your dissertation with “fluff” or filler material, just to make page counts. Just because you can write it, doesn’t mean you should – make your writing count.
