If you’ve been feeling distracted or like you haven’t been able to focus, you’re not alone. It’s not uncommon to feel a lack of focus, increased stress (especially if your job has been affected or if you’re worried about loved ones), or even depression or loneliness. If these things are interfering with everyday functioning, call your health care professional. It may be helpful to speak with a counselor about what you are experiencing, especially now. Many therapists are doing teletherapy or virtual therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We know that staying home can get boring and sometimes you just need a break. Movies are a good way to escape, even if only for a few hours (or more, if you decide to do a marathon). They could also be used as an incentive to do your work and a nice reward after you have completed your work. Here are some of our favorites.

The Star Wars franchise. Whether you’re an original trilogy fan, a prequel trilogy fan (why, oh why?), or a sequel trilogy fan, there’s something for everyone. If your kids haven’t seen the movies yet, why not have a family movie night?

Harry Potter. Another bunch of movies that the entire family can watch together! If you’ve read the books, the movies will be a nice bonus (we’re of the idea that the book is usually better, and this was no exception).

Marvel cinematic universe. This should keep you busy for a while. Avengers, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy…Which one is your favorite?

DC movies. You didn’t think we’d put Marvel up and not DC, did you? Wonder Woman, Superman v Batman, The Dark Knight, Aquaman, Suicide Squad…

The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It’s up to you if you want to add the Hobbit movies, as well.

Rocky. I mean, who doesn’t love these films? Feel free to add Rocky Balboa and the two Creed movies, too.

Indiana Jones. Some vintage Harrison Ford always sounds like a good idea. (I would say that the first 3 from the 1980s are arguably the best). Who doesn’t love these movies?

Have you been marathoning any movies lately? Which ones are your favorites?
